Very pleased with the design Am I correct in thinking that Dolby Digital is superior to the other two, and could that partly explain my relative concern regarding the quality of sound I am receiving?
If this is the case, I would naturally ensure that my next plasma tv that I buy will have a Dolby Digital facility, however when I look at Panasonic's current literature I see that the next generation of plasma tv's have something called Dolby Digital Plus which my Sony G does not support which perhaps means that technology has already bypassed my new sound system which was only released this year! So would some kind soul advise me on the quality relationship between the three differing forms of sound reproduction I have quoted I am inclined to presume that the difference may be marginal since the Sony G is an all in one setup and would never give true 5.

Perhaps if I re-phrase the most important aspect of my question Since my Panasonic THPX70 tv purchased two years ago has no optical outlet connection I am using the white and red coloured connectors out does this mean there is no way my Sony RHT-G can give me 5. Sony rht g Thread starter stevo Start date Jul 14, I have just bought myself the tv stand by sony,very nice looking piece of equipment but not very impressive user manual,thought it very strange that i couldnt get the tv speakers on at the same time as the stand speakers,so i rang Sony and they tell me this is how it was designed!! Has anyone else had any experience with this product? Any replies welcome. How are you connecting your equipment?. The only problem with that though is the echo effect youll hear which is then detrimental to the overall sound.

Your right about the echo,if i turn on the unit on first then the tv the volume controls work seperatly and you get the echo,however if you turn on the tv before the unit then the tv speakers are automatically muted and the volume button on the tv control just works the unit speakers..
I can see this is from quite a while ago but i've just bought the same and having some minor issues with sound. I have been looking into this for a while now and, just as i did to start, you have wired it up incorrectly. Its a known problem so im told, something to do with SKY not sending 5. I have been looking into this more and more and i am now very confident its all set up correctly! Should be quite a simple job to connect There are some major schedule changes due to the earthquake. My box is displaying an updated schedule but the programmes are inserted into the old schedule rather than just over written. I cant figure out if it's my box or your infomation. Would you be able to take a look at my web page for JSTV1 and compare it to the infomation in xmltv i download.
Posted 15 March - What you describe is a know issue. Major schedule changes can create this. This is because any new epg is added to the epg already in the box. Normal this is not a problem. Occasional you get a double entry for a program. However in this case, this is a problem the tsunami is a much bigger disaster. How to solve. And when you import again, it will have a fresh copy. Posted 26 March - I just in the process of regrabbing everything this morning in preparation of the time change next night. And in order to check if everything is OK I'll do a grab with the new files. Will be after lunch before they are available. BTW: I see you have it all Japanese now. Does it still comes over at your end, because my box does not show much anymore, except some unreadeable stuff - not even Japanese characters or how do you call these things?
