Cut each into [2] 48" pieces, for a total of [4] 4x4x48" pieces. Take the [2] remaining 2x4x8' boards.
The 21" pieces must be inside of the 48" pieces. This will form a 2'x4' box. Lay one piece of the 24"x48" plywood on top of the 2x4 box, use the plywood to square up the 2x4 frame. Turn the box upside down. From the inside of the box, make a mark in the center of the 2x4 vertically inside the radius. Use the drill bit to drill a hole through the support leg and side of the box. To build a cornhole game, start by cutting the top board to be 24 by 48 inches. Next, measure 12 inches from one side and 9 inches from the end to mark the spot for the hole.
Use a compass to draw a circle with a 6-inch diameter where you marked the board and use a saw to cut out the circle. Then, cut the wood to create the frame and use a drill to attach the top board to the frame. Finally, build and attach 2 legs to the underside of the board.

Tips and Warnings. Related Articles. Article Summary. Part 1. Build the top. You will need a sheet of plywood that is 24 inches Measure 12 inches Mark this spot with your pencil. This marked spot will be the center of your cornhole. Draw the hole. Use a drawing compass to draw a 6-inch diameter hole 3 inch radius. Place the point of the drawing compass on the dot you marked out in the previous step.
Spread the compass so that it is 3 inches 7. The point of the compass should not leave the board. If you do not have a drawing compass, place a thumbtack over the pencil mark you have made. Place a piece of string under the thumbtack and push the thumbtack down so it holds the string in place. With a ruler, measure 3 inches 7. Tie a pencil to the string, making sure that the distance between the pencil tip and thumbtack is 3 inches 7.
Draw your circle. Drill a hole right on the inside of the circle you have just made, up against the pencil circle. Make sure the hole does not go outside the pencil mark. This hole will act as the starting point for your saw. Insert the blade of your jigsaw and cut the hole. Try to cut as close to the penciled circle as possible.
Your cut may not be perfect but that is ok because you can clean it up with sandpaper. You can also cut the hole using a hole saw or a router. Wrap a piece of sandpaper around a cylinder of some sort. The handle of a hammer or a thin pipe will work. Run the sandpaper along the interior edges of the hole to smooth your cut out and make it even.
Part 2. Cut all of your wood. You will need six 2x4 pieces of wood to make one board. Use a mitre saw or a hand saw to cut the boards.
Always use caution when using power tools. Make sure you bring the correct measurements to the lumberyard. Cut 2 of the 2x4s so that each is 21 inches Cut 2 of the 2x4s so that each is 48 inches Cut 2 of the 2x4s so that each is 16 inches Build the frame. Place the inch boards in between the inch boards.
Use two screws for each corner. Place your board top on top of the frame. Again, before drilling in your screws, drill holes with a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screws you will be using. Use 10 long drywall screws to attach the board top to the frame. Use 4 screws across the top, 4 screws across the bottom, and 2 on each side. Countersink the screws so that you can cover them with putty later on. Part 3. Take one of the inch pieces of wood.
You will need several pieces of two by four board and some half to three-quarter inch plywood. An electric saw, an electric drill, a hammer, and nails are all that is needed to complete this project. Sandpaper and paint with a paintbrush will help make the game board more attractive. The bean bags can be made easily with any type of sturdy fabric, a sewing machine and thread, and some dry beans or plastic pellets. The fabric should be in two different colors for competitive team play.
Cut the plywood into one piece that is two feet wide and four feet long, one that is one foot wide and four feet long, and one that is one foot wide and twenty-three inches wide.
Mark a straight line diagonally from corner to corner on the one by four-foot piece and cut it into two long triangles. Assemble the pieces together using nails. The two-by-four boards can be cut into short lengths to provide sturdiness to where the plywood meets. Nail this to the top sheet of plywood first and then nail the triangular sides and the smaller rectangular back to them.
